I like to think of the heart energy center as Love on Earth. The extent to which we can love is limited by our humanness. Even the purest expression of love on Earth is just a drop in a bucket in comparison to the infinite and all-encompassing love from Source. A mother’s love can come very close because no matter what her children do, a good mother will always love and accept her children. But if you listen to Near Death Experience stories, the individuals that had wonderful mothers still never felt the level of pure acceptance, non-judgement, and fullness of love as they experienced in the Spirit realm. Love is a feeling that our souls brought to Earth to feel, act on, and learn from. But our bodies and minds can never really grasp the vastness and wholeness of love. We categorize love as a feeling, but on Earth it’s really more of an action of love that creates the feeling of bliss and joy. When we accept others for who they are without judgement, that is love. When we empathize and feel compassion, it’s from a place of love. Pure love is unconditional. Unconditional love is holy. It comes from God. It comes from Source. It comes from the Light. Because these are all one in the same. When we are close to Spirit through our crown chakra, we pull more of that pure Light Love into our heart centers.
Our purpose here is to create more and more love and watch it spread and grow. We are each small tendrils that reach out and connect with each other. Our job is to learn how to create light through love in each connection instead of spreading darkness, hatred, and indifference.
The problem on Earth is that we are capable of hurting each other. So we have to create boundaries and rules and laws. We have to protect ourselves. That’s why we have Ego that protects our humanness. Without Ego, our soul love would be so accepting and non-judgmental that we would essentially allow ourselves to be hurt. When we don’t have boundaries and rules, humanity can’t learn how to not hurt each other. And there wouldn’t be any growth and evolution. But if we are too judgmental and unaccepting then we also snuff out more and more space for love to grow.
A balanced heart center isn’t one that doesn’t feel anger. Anger is an important human emotion but it’s easily misused when we get hurt. And when anger isn’t felt and released or transmuted, it sits and stews and becomes bitterness, resentment, and hatred. By practicing forgiveness, you release the anger. Remember- forgiveness is more for yourself than for those you are forgiving. And forgiveness does not mean a breach of boundaries. Forgiveness does not mean we allow others to continue to hurt us. Forgiveness just means we are no longer allowing the pain to consume us. It means we understand that people make mistakes and hurt others when they are hurting and need to learn. “I forgive you but I will not allow you to treat me that way again, even if that means our paths must part”. The less offensive transgressions deserve the fastest forgiveness. You will know you have truly forgiven when you don’t feel that heaviness in your heart center anymore.
Sometimes it’s harder to feel empathy and compassion for others when we are emotionally burned out. And sometimes we even feel jealous of others when we don’t feel like we are good enough. When this happens, there are likely wounds that need healed so that we can open ourselves back up to giving and receiving love again.
Just like the other energy centers, the heart center requires balance. And so does the beating heart center for all of humanity. So how do we spread love while protecting ourselves? How do we continue to learn from each other? We can have love and compassion for others while also protecting ourselves and teaching others in a productive way. Through LOVE, we create boundaries. Through LOVE we have compassion and empathy. We don’t have to learn through pain and heartbreak although that’s how it happens for a lot of us because we are human-souls. We can let pain be our teacher or we can trust in love.
Live your life through the lens of love.
Laugh and speak through the voice of love.
Labor with love pulsing through your fingertips.
Listen through the sound of love. Try to understand others by being compassionate, empathetic, and accepting. Forgive.
Living your life this way fosters environments and energies for you to receive the same.
This is how you keep your heart chakra balanced and shining brightly.
This is what I had in mind when I created the Sacred Heart Chakra Wand to help focus your energy. This is why B’s Burning Brush exists. Not only did I want to create art that others would enjoy or want to gift to their loved ones, I wanted to make art with meaning. And I really enjoy pyrography because the burning brush transforms the surface of what it’s touching; burning meaning into objects. This is why I read tarot and write journal posts. This is why I’m trying to connect with others. This is one of the ways I can spread love and help others.
